In Steal A Brainrot, few characters are as oddly powerful and mechanically unique as Garama and Madundung.

In Steal A Brainrot, few characters are as oddly powerful and mechanically unique as Garama and Madundung. Unlocking them can feel like a side quest on its own—but it’s absolutely worth the effort if you’re looking to round out your build with strategic depth and hilarious chaos. This guide breaks down how to unlock both, the most efficient farming paths, and where they fit into your broader Steal a Brainrot items strategy.

Unlocking Garama: Early Clues and Progression

Garama is first hinted at during the Scrubtown Radioactive Parade, where fragments of his data can be scanned from rogue Memory Nodes scattered across the junk alley. To begin unlocking him:

  1. Start the Side Circuit Mission “Echoes of Gargle” available after Floor 4-7.

  2. Collect 3 Radioactive Flute Pieces by defeating Noise Farmers in Brainstatic Zones. The drop rate isn’t great, so expect a bit of a grind.

  3. Once completed, go to The Clotted Tower to trigger a cutscene where Garama’s schematic becomes fully visible in your inventory.

To finalize his unlock, feed the schematic 7 Fungal Neurons and 1 Cracked Collector’s Eye at the Grey Matter Console. This finishes the activation protocol and Garama becomes playable immediately after the next session reset.

Unlocking Madundung: The Loops Get Weird

Madundung, on the other hand, is locked behind the Twist Spine Loop, a recursive event unlocked only by looping Floor 9 with the “Visceral Surge” modifier enabled.

Steps to Unlock Madundung:

  1. Defeat the boss “King Neuronino” while under Neuro Flood x2.

  2. Grab the dropped Twist Spine Token—this item is NOT guaranteed every run, so persistence is key.

  3. Insert the token into the Chrono Drain Receptor located in the Hall of Twitching Lights.

  4. Complete the challenge room that opens. Survive 3 waves of “Gribblin Hosts” without triggering a panic warp.

Once you succeed, Madundung is automatically added to your roster, and his Madmuncher Implant becomes available as a passive enhancement.

Farming Path: Brainrot Efficiency

Whether you’re aiming to unlock or power up these characters, knowing the right farming route is crucial. Here’s the optimal loop many players use:

  • Start at Sludgefield’s Southern Drain. High density of Junknodes and relatively weak mobs make it perfect for farming Steal a Brainrot items like Neural Fibers, Bloodcog Drips, and pre-fab organs.

  • Proceed to Floor 6’s Underground Gutline, which drops both Fungal Neurons and Cracked Collector’s Eye at a moderate rate.

  • Wrap your route through the Twist Spine Loop Entrance, even if you’re not going for Madundung, to scoop up valuable mutation catalysts.

Doing this loop 2–3 times per session keeps you well-stocked on enhancement mats and gives you more chances to snag rare drops used to craft or upgrade both Garama and Madundung.

Where to Get Extra Brainrots

You’re going to need more brainrots than you think. If you're wondering about the best place to buy Steal a Brainrot brainrots, visit the Trunkle Market NPCs in the Silent Guts Bazaar. They rotate brainrot stock every 6 hours based on server time, and you can spend Scrap Lymph to grab duplicates or rare ones you’ve missed. Make sure to check all three vendors, as some brainrots are hidden in sub-menus.

Both Garama and Madundung offer strong tactical tools—Garama with his multi-layer shieldburst and Madundung with his unpredictable hunger-based buffs. Unlocking them is a bit of a challenge, but for players invested in Steal a Brainrot items and hunting down high-utility oddballs, they’re more than worth the effort.
