After surviving the Cheap Dune Awakening Solari Command Deck and solving ship puzzles, you’re now standing at the brink of the final and most dangerous section of the Wreck of the Pallas — the Engineering Bay. This zone is heavily restricted and requires the Red ID Band to enter. Inside, you'll find rare schematics, high-end crafting components, and (if you're lucky) prototype weapons.
In this blog, we’ll show you how to:
Find the Red ID Band
Enter the Engineering Bay
Loot the final rooms efficiently
Escape with your life (and loot)
? What Is the Engineering Bay?
The Engineering Bay is the last lootable zone in the Wreck of the Pallas — locked behind a red security scanner. It's home to:
Rare materials like Industrial Coolant and Plasma Coils
High-tier crafting blueprints
One of the best opportunities to gather endgame gear
But the risks match the rewards:
Radiation levels spike here
It's a PvP hotspot
You’ll face elite enemies or traps depending on server rules
? How to Get the Red ID Band
Option 1: Captain’s Quarters
Located on the upper Command Deck, this room occasionally contains the Red ID Band inside a locked safe or data locker.
Steps:
Power the Captain’s room via control terminals
Solve the keycode puzzle (see Part 3)
Loot the Red ID Band from the safe
? Spawn chance is not guaranteed. You may have to run the wreck multiple times.
Option 2: High-Tier Enemy Drop
Elite enemies in the Command Deck and Server Room may drop the Red ID Band.
Look for “Lieutenant-Class Scavengers” or “Hostile Overseers”
Drop chance is low, but improves with PvE difficulty scaling
Option 3: Loot from Another Player
This is Dune: Awakening, after all. If you kill another player in PvP while they’re holding the band, it drops in their loot chest.
⚠️ Be warned: loot is Right of Salvage in this area. If you die, someone else can take your ID band and your gear.
? Where Is the Engineering Bay Entrance?
Once you have the Red ID Band:
Head to the lower central corridor from the Command Deck
Look for a red-lit scanner door
With the band in your inventory, the scanner will unlock
? Before you enter:
Clear your inventory of junk (you’ll need space)
Top off your health and radiation meters
Equip highest-tier weapons and armor
⚔️ Inside the Engineering Bay
Once inside, you’re deep in enemy territory. The layout includes:
? Main Reactor Hall
Radiated walkways
Locked data panels
Heavy electrical hazards
? Maintenance Labs
Lootable tables with tech blueprints
Chemical ingredients for endgame crafting
? Prototype Vaults
Secure storage rooms containing:
Exotic mods (e.g. scope extenders, suppressors)
Unique crafting schematics (e.g. Ornithopter parts)
? Elite Enemy Types
Enemy | Location | Tactics Required |
---|---|---|
Security Bot Mk III | Reactor Hall | Use EMP / dodge roll |
Flame Drone | Labs and corridors | Keep distance, kite |
Holo-Guard | Vault Entrance | Shielded — flank or stagger them |
Some of these are mini-bosses, meaning they drop guaranteed loot and are often farmed by PvP guilds.
? Top Loot You Can Find
Item | Use | Rarity |
---|---|---|
Plasma Coil x3 | Weapon crafting | Epic |
Nanoweave Armor Panels | Armor crafting | Rare |
Ornithopter Stabilizer | Vehicle blueprint component | Legendary |
Engineering Chipset | Upgrades fabrication benches | Epic |
Prototype SMG | Fast-fire weapon | Rare+ |
? Bonus: Encrypted Data Logs found in secure terminals may also unlock lore-based missions or offer XP boosts upon decoding.
? Extraction Strategy: How to Get Out Alive
✅ Step 1: Retrace Safely
Don’t try to get clever — go back through the door you came in. The Red ID Band allows re-entry and exit without rescanning.
✅ Step 2: Avoid PvP Funnel Points
There are 2–3 known chokepoints between Engineering and Command Deck where PvP ambushers wait. Hug the walls or take secondary passages if available.
✅ Step 3: Use Emergency Maintenance Shaft
If extraction is looking grim:
Head to the far southern corridor
Activate the maintenance lift
Ride it down to the lower wreck exit
This takes you out via a dune-hatch that dumps you ~200 meters east of the wreck’s outer hull.
? If You Die Here...
You will drop everything unless you have a Personal Salvage Insurance (optional item or faction perk). Without that:
Red ID Band drops
Loot may be picked up by any player
You respawn with default gear at the closest safe point
Recommendation: Don’t enter Engineering unless you’re confident, equipped, or playing with a group.

? Pro Tips
If playing solo, sprint past enemies once looting is done — don’t fight unless necessary.
Don’t get greedy. It's better to extract with 3 great items than die trying to grab 5.
