Maps are the engine of endgame in Path of Exile. If you run out of maps, your farming stops and progress stalls. You should build a steady flow of maps so your runs never run dry PoE 1 Currency.
Atlas passives are the base of map flow. Put points into the passives that increase map drops and raise map tiers. The Shaping the World cluster is one of the strongest choices because it raises the chance that maps will drop a tier higher and it gives bosses a chance to drop a connected map. Invest early points into nodes that boost the chance for extra or higher-tier maps. These passive choices will help your map pool scale with your play.
Use league mechanics to spike monster density and map drops. Kirac missions can offer extra maps and useful map modifiers, so check Kirac’s shop and missions often. Strongboxes can drop maps or spawn extra monsters that increase your chance at map drops. Delirium layers add more enemies and rewards, so pushing a few Delirium layers can raise the chance of extra maps and better loot. Plan which mechanics you run so you get the density and quantity you need without wasting time.
Craft and shape your map pool smartly. Use the 3-for-1 vendor recipe (three identical lower-tier maps → one map of the next tier) to climb tiers when you lack specific maps. Use Orb of Horizons to reroll a map into another map of the same tier when you need a different base map. Reforge rare or unwanted maps into useful ones rather than hoarding them. If you have many low-tier maps of the same kind, vendor them up. If you have extra currency, reroll maps to change the map type and keep your pool varied.
Be active and pick priorities. Kill map bosses and clear maps fully because bosses and monsters drop maps. When you are early in the Atlas, choose Atlas passives that give connected-map drops or extra map chances first, not nodes that only give niche rewards. Use your PoE 1 Currency buy to buy quality and density on maps that pay back with more map drops. Spend currency to raise pack size and item quantity when that change increases map drop chance overall.
Spend your currency on items that raise map return first. Use Chaos orbs and other mid-tier currency to buy better map rolls, to alch+chaos maps you run, or to buy map tiers you lack. Save a chunk to buy high-value base maps or to buy key Atlas passives from other players if trading is easier than farming them. Use Horizon Orbs and other map-crafting currency when you need to swap a map type.
It is steady work: pick the right Atlas nodes, use strong map mechanics, craft and vendor smartly, and spend currency where it returns the most. Do these things and your map pile will refill itself while you focus on the parts of the game you enjoy.
