Skill Reworks Coming to Keep ARC Raiders Fresh

The developers want to make sure evolving player strategies are properly matched by dynamic skill improvements.

Embark Studios is addressing growing player frustration over underwhelming skill nodes in ARC Raiders. According to design lead Virgil Watkins, upcoming updates will strengthen weaker perks to ensure every skill point feels meaningful. The team has analyzed player data and identified several problematic nodes, including barely noticeable movement boosts and ineffective melee abilities. These refinements aim to make raids fairer while giving players more satisfying progression options.

Some of the least-used abilities, such as the “Swat Melee Against Arcs” perk, have been criticized even within the development team. Most players favor ranged combat, which leaves melee-focused nodes largely ignored despite their original purpose in close encounters. Similarly, heavy investments in stamina or stealth currently provide little payoff, prompting calls for rebalancing so that each upgrade has visible impact during raids.

When the skill tree was first designed, melee perks were intended to shine against tough enemies at close range. However, as the meta has shifted toward guns and gadgets, these nodes have lost relevance. Developers now plan to adjust their effects to better fit modern raiding tactics. To ensure you're fully prepared for an expedition, U4GM provides all the ARC Raiders items needed, including weapons, armor, and supplies for the toughest missions.

Expedition rewards, which grant extra skill points, remain capped to preserve game balance. These additional points are designed for small advantages such as quieter movement or minor stamina boosts rather than overwhelming power spikes. The system encourages smart allocation and prevents experienced players from overpowering newcomers, keeping ARC Raiders’ PvPvE mode fair for everyone.

Players have been vocal about which buffs they hope to see prioritized. Fan favorites include enhancements to “Security Breach” for stealthier entries, faster dodge rolls for improved mobility, and meaningful melee damage upgrades. Popular Reddit discussions and community data breakdowns have helped guide the developers toward the most needed improvements.

With these planned changes, Embark Studios aims to rejuvenate the skill tree experience, encouraging diverse builds and more rewarding progression. The adjustments are expected to arrive in upcoming patches, setting the stage for a more balanced and dynamic era of raiding.
