A Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 player has unveiled a clever new tactic for defusing the bomb in Search and Destroy without being noticed by the enemy team. The one-life-only mode has been a staple in the Call of Duty franchise since the days of Modern Warfare and continues to be popular in the latest installment. In a Reddit post, user SpawnTubing shared a short video showing how they used the Sleeper Agent Field Upgrade to blend in with the enemy team while defusing the bomb. Despite an enemy player being in close proximity and staring directly at the bomb site, the user managed to emote, making it appear as though they were sitting on the bomb, when in reality, they were actively defusing it.
The Sleeper Agent Field Upgrade in Black Ops 6 was initially controversial, as it allows players to briefly appear as if they’re on the opposing team. While it’s often used for getting kills by tricking enemies, this new tactic is a novel application of the feature. The key here is that the player was able to emote while defusing, which removes the usual defusing animation and makes the action seem normal.
It’s still unclear whether this is an intentional feature or a bug that Treyarch will need to address, as most players weren’t aware of the possibility to emote while defusing. Emotes have caused other issues in Black Ops 6 as well, such as third-person emotes allowing players to peek around corners without getting eliminated—something that has raised concerns among the community.
This new tactic has caught the attention of players, and many are eager to try it out for themselves, potentially changing the dynamics of Search and Destroy in Black Ops 6.
